Let
us show you one of the most beautiful and
pristine areas in the world while you
fish Light Tackle Spinning along the
mangroves or Fly Fish the large salt
water flats to your heart's content in
the Sian Ka'an Biosphere, which is
located around one and half hours south
from Playa del Carmen.
It
doesn't matter if you are an experienced
angler or a novice. We always endeavour
to give you our best service on our Light
Tackle Spinning and Fly Fishing tours and
we want it to be a memorable experience
for you. If you are a novice to this type
of fishing we will teach you how. Fishing
like this is very rewarding and a real
challenge as you match your wits against
the fish using only artificial lures and
flies.
Herminio,
your guide, has more than 20 years
fishing experience, it is his passion,
and he has a wealth of knowledge about
the fish of this area, their
characteristics and habits. You will
enjoy interacting with him as he shows
you his craft and points you in the
direction of the fish. Among the fish
that are in the area is the Bonefish. One
of the most sought after species by salt
water fly fishermen because of his long
and fassssst runs. There are also Permit,
Tarpon and Snook to be caught. Light
Tackle Spinning in the area is good and
there are Jacks, Barracuda and mangrove
Snapper to challenge you.
If
you bring your own fly rod ... an 8 or 9
weight is ideal for the conditions here.
Our
fishing tour whether it be Fly Fishing or
Light Tackle Spinning or a combination of
both is six hours of actual fishing ...
but our tour takes up around 11 hours of
your time from start to finish. We pick
you up from your hotel around 5.30 -
6.00am, grab a coffee for the the 90
minute drive south to the fishing area.
Once there we set up all the gear and go
fishing. While you are busy fishing
Herbert will be taking candid photos of
you during your expedition for you. He
will have drinks for you when you are
thirsty as well. Usually after about 4
hours we take a break and have a bite to
eat (baguettes freshly made the night
before) and to reflect on the mornings
activity. Then we head out again for a
couple of hours more. Once done we pack
up and head back to Playa and drop you
off at your hotel.
